Headers and footers have the power to make web pages look unique and more attractive to visitors. In a website, headers and footers always remain the same for all web pages. While the header contains things like the logo of the website, banners and advertisements located on the top of the pages, and the footer on the other hand contains general links and information located on the bottom parts of web pages.

The most important part of web page design is the number of options available on the top part of the web pages. This is called the header. A bold graphic may tease visitors. Phrases that catches attention will immediately attract the visitors to look deeper into the site.

Header

Graphic design in the header will give a website a wonderful visual identity. A signature graphic and page layout allows the reader to understand the purpose of the website in general, the purpose of a content and its subsequent relation to the other pages. Graphics used in the headers is used to show the relation series of the website's web pages. Phases and slogan of a company must be placed to attract visitors to spend more time on the site. Basic navigation links, which will lead the visitors to other pages is necessary to ease them to browse throughout the site.

Another basic factor to make a header attractive is using specific colors. Colors affect the mind of people. Correct color combinations for a specific website can make reflect the main purpose of a website. The header area should contain a prominent title at the top. Images placed above the title should not be large, for then it might force the title and introductory text out of the web page.

Footer

The footer of the web page always contains basic data about the website. It can contain links that will lead one web page to other pages displaying topics like “About Us”, “Contact Us”, “Privacy Policy”, etc.. When the site visitors have reached the footer area of a web page, the links placed on the header are no longer visible to them. Placing the mentioned links can once again lead visitors to other essential pages.

To make the footer of a website looks alluring, the website can include the logo of any other products that the company sells. Placing a link on them can ease visitors to view specific information about those products. Proper color combinations to the footer also have a significant impact like its counterpart. The links exchanged with other company sites and the partners it may have can be placed on the footer.
