Powerful men are still men, and for obvious reasons, the more experienced they become, and the higher their influence in their professional lives, the harder the job it is for them.
Sundar Pichai, the India-born Alphabet and Google CEO, started his early life as a humble person, spending his life living with his family in a modest two-room apartment, where he slept in the living room with his younger brother.
His parents always made sure that Pichai and his brother had the best education the family could afford.
With his passion and his affection in technology, particularly in computers, and through his photographic memory among others, Pichai joined Google in 2004 as a product manager, and later, managed to carve a magnificent career, and eventually became the leader of one of the biggest tech companies the world has ever seen.
In 2024, as 20 years has past since his first interview at Google, the executive recalled his memories.
He took it to Instagram to share a small, heartening note on completing two decades in the tech giant.
In his post, the CEO gave a glimpse of his journey over the past 20 years, and shared a photo to mark the occasion.
It shows inflated balloons, including two, which make up the number "20", and a lava lamp with the words "Congratulations on 20 years" written on it.
The photo also shows two photos of Pichai in his ID cards, taken years apart, reflecting on the journey.
Despite the ever-evolving landscape of technology and the growing user base, Pichai’s passion for his work and the exhilaration of being part of Google remain undiminished.
20 years at Google, with a promising career, Pichai still gets the same thrill from working for the company, as what he experienced in 2004.
"Much has transformed since then—the technology, the sheer number of people using our products, even my hair. But what remains constant is the thrill I derive from contributing to this remarkable company. Two decades in, I still feel fortunate."
Sundar Pichai was promoted CEO, when the company's founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, announced that they are stepping away from the company.
In a letter announcing his promotion, Sergey and Brin wrote that “Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President."
“He (Sundar Pichai) will be the executive responsible and accountable for leading Google, and managing Alphabet’s investment in our portfolio of Other Bets" the two added.
Pichai not only serves as both the CEO of Google and Alphabet, as he also serves on Alphabet's Board of Directors.
Sundar was involved in a number of key projects for the company, including the development of Google Chrome, Android, Google+, Maps, Search and Ads.
As CEO, he has led the company to focus on even more innovative products and services.
Under his leadership, Google has been focused on developing products and services, powered by the latest advances in AI, as per the official site.
