When speaking talk about technology and advances in computers, there is only a few people come first in mind.
One of the them, should be Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, a company which made world-changing software, like Windows, Office, Bing and many more.
Gates has witnessed numerous developments and gained extensive experience, which has sharpened his entrepreneurial skills, allowing him to foresee trends before they emerge. This foresight has enabled him to create products that address future challenges.
Although Gates is no longer directly involved in the company he co-founded, he remains engaged and passionate about technology.
But unlike many things that came before it, AI was the thing that caught him by surprise.
In The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Gates was asked whether he is concerned about the rising AI, to which he responded:
"It is the first technology that has no limit. When you invent a tracker or cellphone, you figure out, okay, we can figure out how that's going to change life. Here, where the AI is very intelligent and when you a robotic formula, it can do a lot of blue-collar and white-collar jobs."
Instead of worrying about AI, like how people would when they relate the technology with pop culture, Gates tends to see the positive side of it.
From shortening work week to creating inner-city personal tutors, to developing advanced healthcare, Gates considers this moment "exciting."
Stephen Colbert then compared AI to a famous experiment conducted by psychologist Harry Harlow in the 1950s. where Harlow used baby rhesus monkeys to investigate the importance of maternal attachment and contact comfort.
In his experiment, Harlow created two surrogate mothers for the baby monkeys: one was made of wire and provided milk, while the other was made of soft, terry cloth and did not provide food.
His hypothesis aims to determine whether the monkeys would prefer comfort and security over nourishment. He believed that emotional bonds were as crucial as physical needs.
Harlow found that the baby monkeys spent significantly more time clinging to the cloth mother, even when the wire mother was the only source of food.
This demonstrated that the need for comfort and security was a vital part of the mother-infant bond.
Colbert tried to refer to AI as something that has no feeling or emotion, and couldn't ever "perceive my needs."
Gates responded to it, by saying that people should not worry.

"It was two years ago when I first saw this ChatGPT and it was kind of mind-blowing, because it came all of a sudden."
"And yes, its ability to learn from the best and provide advice, and be there 24 hours a day."
In other words, Gates is particularly enthusiastic about the potential of AI, recognizing the significant benefits it could bring to fields.
Gates that was surprised to see OpenAI's ChatGPT when it first came out, and how his company quickly made a move to support it because it knows that it's going to be the next big thing, suggests that AI is much more than just a PC or the internet.
The billionaire philanthropist believes that AI is unlike anything he has witnessed before.
He believes that the technology knows no bounds.
