Twitter Keeps Its Promise. The Storytelling Moments Is Now For Everyone

Moments

Twitter is changing quite rapidly, and the next thing that it's doing is to make its Moments useful.

With Moments, users can make a "moment" about pretty much any topics to highlight specific event or story with a narrative feature.

Introduced in October 2015, it was Twitter's attempt to bring the microblogging platform to its former glory. While it has gained popularity using its own wits, it was limited to a selected partners - only a few people could use it.

Twitter first opened Moments to a wider selection of people in August. At that time, it announced that it would be bringing the feature to everyone.

And that day is September 28th, 2016. This is when Twitter is following its initial promise.

So whatever the topic or occasion may be, users can now compile a collection of tweets that should the need a rise.

In a video accompanying the tweet, Twitter walks users through creating customized Moments, which collect contents from people tweeting about that particular subject as they appear, even if the user doesn't follow the other accounts.

Twitter has updated its desktop site to have a new Moments counter on users' profile.

Here users can click on the "create a moment' to add series of relevant tweets, including to add a cover photo for it. Twitter also eases the process by allowing users to include tweets they've previously liked or searched.

While Moments does get the traction, it haven't quite taken off like Twitter hoped for. While many people use it, there are more people who are less enthusiastic. But opening up the feature for anyone to use is indeed a welcome move, especially when Twitter is struggling.

The company is seeing the bottom of its pit, but isn't seen to give up. Competing in a tighter space with giants occupying the places up above, Twitter needs some new things to appeal better. Particularly since Instagram introduced its own version of Stories.
