The divorce documents of Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan have then gone viral on social media.

The divorce papers reportedly reveal various issues the couple faced during their two years of marriage.

In the documents, Teuku Ryan, the defendant, mentioned that Ria Ricis, the plaintiff, and he both held onto their respective principles.

"At first, Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan's marriage was peaceful and harmonious. However, since April 2022, during the pregnancy, Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan's marriage began to lose its harmony, where there was no longer compatibility between the plaintiff and the defendant," the narrative was quoted.

The reasons cited on page 2 point A mention the lack of unity of views between the plaintiff and the defendant in building a household.

"The plaintiff feels bad, humiliated, unwanted, and psychologically pressured after giving birth because she did not receive affection and emotional support from the defendant as her husband, to the point where she considered changing the shape of her breasts (implant surgery) so that the defendant would be interested in her again, because the defendant had previously said, 'Your body is too thin, that's why you should eat more,' including commenting on the plaintiff's breasts, which the defendant considered flat," wrote a copy of the lawsuit.

Ricis also said that she hadn’t received emotional support since her second trimester of pregnancy, and that they were restraining from having sexual intercourse.

Lack of communication and sexual abstinence, among others, happened soon after doctors advised against a normal birth.

It's said that he was worried about the condition of the fetus.

It's said that Ryan admitted to being very concerned about Ricis' condition while she was pregnant, as the reason why he refused physical intimacy and his wife's advances.

"There is concern and fear of having marital relations with the plaintiff (Ria Ricis) solely due to the safety considerations of the baby in the plaintiff's womb," reads the statement.

But after childbirth, this apparently continued.

The plaintiff attempted to bring the defendant to the hospital and alternative treatments in the hope that cure defendant's alleged sexual dysfunctions.

Efforts were made to increase his libido and sex drive, but the defendant instead consumed them for enhancing his stamina while playing football.

Ryan claimed stress and fatigue from work, as well as having a cold that prevented him from fulfilling Ricis’s biological needs, and not because of the accused and alleged sexual dysfunction or erectile dysfunction.

According to Ryan's attorney, it is not uncommon for Ricis to request physical intimacy at inappropriate times. Ryan, who also has many responsibilities, sometimes feels stressed and preoccupied. Moreover, he has to think about mortgage payments of the couple's two homes, and his employees' salaries.

Ricis also revealed that she was bodyshamed by Ryan, who commented about her small breasts.

She was depressed that she even considered going under the knife to have implants.

The document also revealed that the divorce also happened due to Ricis' conflict with her mother-in-law, one of which offended Ricis. In the argument, Ryan defended his mother, and avoided arguing with Ricis.

Ryan also consistently mentioned that Ricis was not close to his family.

While Ricis said that she took the initiative to communicate with Ryan, and even sought help from Ryan’s cousin. But Ryan responded to her by questioning why they needed to chat when they were together every day.

Ryan called Ricis arrogant and accused her of exploiting their children.

Ricis admitted that she was once ignored by Ryan for a week because Ryan claimed to have no money. Ryan's attitude only softened when he received a money transfer of Rp 500 million from Ricis.

Ryan said that the money is rightfully his, due to his work in helping Ricis's sister, Shindy Putri, in her work.

She officially filed for divorce on January 30, 2024, at the South Jakarta Religious Court.

The lawsuit demanded custody of their child and child support.

The divorce case highlights the challenges faced by the couple, including communication issues, financial strain, and conflicting family dynamics.

Because of their differences, they try to navigate separate paths after ending their marriage.

Since filing for divorce, Ryan emphasized his desire to keep their marriage, but Ricis didn’t see his efforts.

On page 4 point B, it is mentioned that there was no good communication established between the plaintiff and the defendant.

On page 5 point C, it is mentioned that after the mediation process at the South Jakarta Religious Court, the defendant always stated that he wanted to reconcile. However, his words did not reflect this.

The defendant always attacked the plaintiff with hurtful words.

"The defendant attacked the plaintiff with words exploiting the child, disobedient wife, unlucky, arrogant, and calling her sister an ustazah but her teachings don't apply to her sister," another statement reads.

Ricis and Ryan officially divorced on May 2, 2024.

The divorce verdict granted custody of their daughter, Moana, to Ricis. Additionally, Ryan is required to pay a monthly salary of Rp 20 million for child support.

Ryan expressed that the decision of the South Jakarta Religious Court regarding his divorce left him feeling disappointed and sad.

"As is known, my marriage ended after there was a decision from the religious court, although I am disappointed and sad," said Teuku Ryan.

"I try to respect it. I have been passive and tend to be silent because I have been fighting for my marriage not to end," continued Ryan.

MA has accepted the divorce, which it considers as "talak bain sugra", a term which refers to a minor, revocable divorce in Islamic law.

The divorce means that the couple is divorced, but with the possibility of reconciliation, without the need for Ricis to marry someone else first.

However, if Ryan doesn't revoke the divorce within the waiting period (iddah), which is usually 90 days, the divorce becomes final.

When asked about the divorce documents of Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan were widely circulated on social media, Indonesia's Supreme Court, or MA, has spoken out, stating that relevant parties or identities within the documents had been anonymized.

"In the case administration information system, the names of the parties in divorce cases are anonymized," said MA spokesperson Suharto.
