Blogs and Targeting Audience with Prime Times

Conventional wisdom states that "timing is everything". This can be described as "being in the right place at the right time." These two statements hold true for most things, including television and radio broadcast. On the other hand, blogging on the internet is no different.

"Prime time" and "drive time" are both used in common for the moments when viewers are at its peak for television and radio. These are the time when broadcasts are often more aggressive. On the other hand, the World Wide Web is available 24/7, and to decide when is the "prime time" can give a significant advantage for websites that post blogs and/or articles.

On the internet, people are gathered in a vast network of networks where information are delivered and received instantly all around the globe. Since the last decade, the internet has been predicted to overlap both television, radio and the papers all together. And since the development of the Web 2.0, social media and user-generated content sites are increasing rapidly, the once called the prediction is actually becoming a reality.

Blog Prime Time

Blogging has been a way to share and be social. More and more people today own blogs to share any information they like to the world. To be seen in a more actual time, blog articles should be posted when viewers have the highest chance to see.

The prime time for blogs according to research is at the last week of the month, followed by the third week. The second week is the most stable, and at the first week of the month usually have the least.

Prime time for the week usually depends on the target viewers the blog/website is targeting. For example, a blog about children have the least view on office hours, and on the same time, blogs about business have its peak view. Mostly, the prime times ranges from 9.00-16.00 local time on weekdays.

Different countries have different cultures and as well as different habits. Since different countries may have different prime times, posting a blog can be an issue to the writer since he/she have to cope with different time zones to be able to target the audience at the right time. And since a blog can target any audience anywhere, understanding the time zones for specific audience in different countries should be considered seriously.

Targeting the Time

On the internet, time can make a difference between been being and being neglected. If a blog is posted on the wrong time, viewers can see the post as spam. This is usually caused by the information given is directed to the audience when they are not ready to receive them, although they may have opt-in, blogs that are posted at the least expected time can have the least viewers.

When people are talking about the internet, they often talk about the real-time information available. A blog post should have the newest, and the most trending topic to discuss. Trends and popular news keeps updating every moment, and internet contents should manage its pace to keep up with the current hot topic.

It is necessary for bloggers to know when the highest traffic for blogs is achieved. By understanding this, they will know when is the best moment to create a blog post. And by knowing the best moment to post, bloggers can manage their time to collect all necessary information and write the best article before the time comes. And when the time finally comes, the audience will receive the best and the newest article they always wanted.
