People talk a lot on the internet, especially on social media.
But when it comes to discussing topics about pretty much anything imaginable, nothing can come close to platforms like Reddit. And this fact makes the platform thrive in the crowded and noisy internet, where everyone can speak their voice through an endless list of platforms
Because of this, Reddit is rolling out updates to its iOS and Android apps, in order to make it easier and faster for users to get into conversations.
"Conversations are at the heart of Reddit and what sets us apart from the rest of the internet. It’s through posts and comments that redditors engage with each other and their communities," said Reddit in an announcement.
The handful of changes announced are aimed at "removing hurdles and reducing friction points."
First of, comments are instantanous.
According to Reddit, comments "load faster than ever, ensuring the conversation is ready for redditors before they even navigate to the page."
As soon as users click on the comments button in the feed, they will go directly to the top of the comments, making it easier for them to get to the discussion.
Then, there is the direct shortcut to conversation.
Previously, Reddit has made the context bar that can stickied to the top of the page. This time, when users want to comment, they can do so by clicking on the comments button and go directly to the top of the comments, while retaining the ability to revisit the original context of the post at any time with a single tap.
"If someone wants to take a closer look at media from their feed before getting into the comments — a single tap on the image or video gets them where they want to go," said Reddit.
And lastly, Reddit is announcing a consistent conversation navigation across post types.
"Conversations can’t flow easily if the way to get to them differs by post type," said Reddit.
"To create a more seamless flow across all post types on Reddit, redditors will now see a unified media player, immersive transitions, and consistent gestures. Simply swipe up for conversations, swipe left for new content."
