Beta Google Search Console Adds 'Manage Users', 'Add Sites' And 'Mobile Usability Report'

Google announced that it added three more features to its Google Search Console.

The company tweeted them as "Freshly released features in the new Search Console" because the three weren't available when Google first updated the Search Console.

Rolling them out gradually to all users while still in beta, the features include:

  1. Manage users and permissions.
  2. Add sites and validate ownership.
  3. Mobile Usability report.

These features are all available in the old version of Google Search Console. What Google is doing here, is improving its new Search Console by adding more legacy features from the classic version.

One of the reasons why it’s still in beta is because the upgraded Search Console doesn't yet have the full set of features that are available in the classic Search Console.

So if users have been holding off using the new Search Console due to the lack of features, they can be assured that Google remains committed in migrating more features from the classic version.

Despite the new Search Console not having all the features of the classic version, it has many unique features of its own that make it worth using.

Below are the benefits of the new Search Console that can't be found on the old Search Console:

  • Access to 16 months of historical data.
  • Advanced filtering options.
  • Visually updated reports.
  • More accurate Index Coverage report.
  • Data about Web Light search results.
  • Information about AMP errors.
  • Ability to filter reports by result type.

Migrating most, if not all of the old Search Console to the new one can take some time. For this reason, users can easily toggle back and forth between the two versions.
