On the internet, anything can go viral. But it takes a good mix of different ingredients for the stardom to happen.

Chandrika Chika was just a normal girl living in Indonesia.

But the girl, popularly known as “Chikakiku,” has taken the nation by storm, when she captivated her followers with her dance videos on TikTok, which catapulted her to fame.

Born on November 7, 2003, Chandrika Sari Jusman discovered her passion for dance early on.

But it was in 2020, that her video dancing to "Papi Chulo" went viral, amassing millions of views, making her an internet sensation.

With her hip dance being shared, recreated as GIF files on social media platforms, WhatsApp and others, this was when Chandrika, a student at the University of Sriwijaya, had her life took an unexpected turn.

Her name quickly became synonymous with viral and contagious dance challenges on TikTok.

Fans were drawn to her infectious energy and impressive moves.

Her account, @chikakiku, amassed a significant following, and her signature dance style became her trademark.

She also becomes famous on Instagram through her chndrika_ handle.

Soon, she became a household name, appearing on television shows, collaborated with established artists like Raffi Ahmad and Tiara Andini, and aspired to solidify her place in the entertainment industry.

Long story short, she successfully occupied the nation's social media scene.

But later, a series of events cast a shadow over her rising, young career.

The first notable incident, was in 2022, when she was involved in a high-profile assault case involving Putra Siregar, a mobile phone business owner, and Rico Valentino, a celebrity.

She was allegedly present during the incident, and was called in for questioning as a witness.

This association significantly tarnished her public image, and that the incident cast a shadow over her career, and many fans turned their backs on her.

Things were made worse when Hard Gumay, an Indonesian celebrity psychic, made a prediction in a Youtube video uploaded in May 2022, claiming Chandrika would face more legal issues in the future.

While Chandrika was still an internet celebrity, she made headlines for far less positive reasons.

Hard Gumay prediction came true, because things for Chandrika go from bad to worse.

On April 22nd, 2024, the police apprehended Chandrika and five others at a hotel in Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, on charges of the possession and use of narcotics.

Urine tests confirmed that all six suspects had consumed drugs: four consumed cannabis, and two others consumed methamphetamine (meth).

Authorities reportedly confiscated electronic cigarettes containing a liquid suspected to be a mixture of the drugs.

It's later revealed that some of the people Chandrika was with were celebrities. They include Herli Juliansah, aka Jeixy, a former e-sport athlete, and selebgram influencer Ni Made Monica Julianti, aka Monica Muller.

Others include Adinda Tania, Andi M Osama aka Osa, and Bibit M. Sofyan.

"There was no specific purpose, not for doping or anything like that. So, indeed, it was because of their social circle," said Deputy Chief of Narcotics Investigation of South Jakarta Metro Police, Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) Rezka Anugras, during a press conference on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Reports indicate that Chandrika confesses for being a drug user for over a year.

"Indeed, it's a matter of social circles; both are within a group that frequently uses drugs, so perhaps they consider it to be a common thing," he said.
