Subscription-based business model has a lot of advantages if compared to more traditional business models.

For starters, by offering paid subscriptions, companies can earn continuous revenue stream that is predictable, scalable and flexible. This also allows companies to properly track usage based on data and insights. And because it offers lower barrier of entry, they have a higher chance for gaining loyal users.

However, people who pay to subscribe to this kind of service want a lot more than people who use the service for free.

They want privilege, perks, and things that is worth their money.

On YouTube, which offers Premium subscription, has started offering a no-ad experience, access to premium YouTube Originals programming produced in collaboration with the site's creators, downloading videos and background playback of videos on mobile devices, access to the music streaming service, and more.

This time, YouTube is introducing those paying subscribers what it calls 'Playables'.

YouTube, the video streaming platform owned by Google, introduces Playables to lure more people to pay for its Premium services.

The feature, which has been introduced in the form of a dedicate section within the YouTube app and desktop website, provides Premium users with the ability to play arcade games directly on the streaming platform.

Without having to download anything or any of the games, Playables is distinct, and that it's meant to enhance the overall user experience while using YouTube.

When accessing Playables, users can see two tabs: Home and Browse.

The Home tab is meant to showcase popular titles and list the games users have recently played.

The Browse tab on the other hand, helps further expand the selection, initially featuring approximately 37 games.

Games that Playables offer, include Daily Solitaire, Brain Out, Angry Birds and Showdown.

Although the library is small, YouTube plans to further expand this with more games in the future.

The platform further intends to gradually extend access to Playables for bigger audiences in the coming months.

As for the date of its official release, is on March 28, 2024.

But before anything, Google wishes to evaluate the performance of the feature, and how the public perceive it, before deciding on its future.

This kind of feature is similar to Netflix, which also offers subscribers games to play.
