Things were fun for the young man, until one day, a drunk Lagunas said "El Mencho can suck my dick."

"El Mencho a mí me pela la verga," Lagunas said.

"I don't sleep like 'El Pirata' or 'El Chanito de Culiacan'", he said, referencing to his online personas.

"I'm immortal, untouchable, I made a pact with the devil. I came to give you fire, Mencho. I'm not scared to say this, I'll say this without the camera right here, Mencho can suck my dick."

He referred to El Mencho, leader of one of Mexico’s most dangerous cartels.

Lagunas, intoxicated, made fun of the cartel leader, and at one point, he even shared the exact location of a party he was about to attend.

The location of the party, was in Jalisco, a region controlled by El Mencho.

This was when the inevitable happened.

On Monday night, while he and his friends partied at a bar in location he "shared" to El Mencho, a group of armed individuals burst, and upon seeing Lagunas, they opened fire mercilessly to the young man.

The teenager died instantly after sustaining between 15 and 18 bullet wounds throughout his body and head.

Authorities were only able to identify Lagunas based on the tattoos on his two arms.

Lagunas died about a week after taunting the drug kingpin.

El Mencho's real name is Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes.

Born in 1960s, he is best known as a Mexican drug lord, and also the leader of the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), or Jalisco New Generation Cartel, an organized crime group based in Jalisco.

Among his notorious crimes, include drug trafficking using everything from submarines to fashion models, organized crime involvement, and undocumented possession of firearms. El Mencho is also allegedly responsible for coordinating global drug trafficking operations, in which he uses CJNG to become one of Mexico's leading criminal organizations.

El Mencho is also known for using bribery and intimidation.

His notoriety is also a result of his aggressive leadership and sensationalist acts of violence against anyone, including rival criminal groups, Mexican security forces, and even the government.

It's said that CJNG had once sent a severed pig's head to to a newly-elected Mexican attorney general "as a warning" to not interfere with him or his business.

As one of the most-wanted people on Earth, El Mencho has been hiding in the rural terrains of Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, and/or Colima, and is guarded by hired mercenaries with former military training.

Both the U.S. and the Mexican governments have been offering anyone with any information that can lead to his arrest, a reward that goes up to $10 million.

It's worth noting that the 17-year-old Mexican YouTuber had actually apologized.

In a video he made when he was sober, he pled.

"Mencho don't kill me, I have a family just like you," he said in the apology. "I'm sorry for what I said, I was not well, I was not conscious of what I was saying."

"It was wrong, that day I woke up stupid. I didn't look at the consequences, I did that for followers, I ask for forgiveness.

"You and your family are well liked. Mencho don't kill me, I have a family just like you. I apologise, we all make mistakes. I have psychological problems sir, just remember we like you."

But this message, either went unnoticed by the cartel leader, or didn't change El Mencho's decision.

It's also worth noting that in February 2022, unconfirmed reports began surfacing that El Mencho died in a private hospital in Guadalajara.
