The first time BBM went beyond its own platform was when BlackBerry released BBM for iOS and Android. However, in the tech industry where everything can change in an instant, saying that yesterday's tech can be today's relic, and today's new found tech can be tomorrow's history, didn't change BlackBerry's aim to release its BBM to Windows Phone platform.
The app was first released in private beta.
