Facebook filed patent about "user emotional reaction with content items"

15/03/2013

Facebook patents emoji reaction. The patent illustrates how the tool might look on the social network. Instead of Like, with the patent, Facebook users can have the option to pick a selection of emoji that best describe their reactions.

On its own, Facebook already has its own set of emoji arts. But based on the patent, Facebook can limit users to a handful of emoticons in order to avoid cluttering the post.

The feature is familiar with Path's Emotions button that has been around since 2011.
