Google News is Google's free news aggregator. The service initially Krishna Bharat's idea. Introduced as a beta release, Google News service came out of beta on January 23, 2006.
As a news aggregator service, Google News uses its own software algorithm to determine which stories to show from thousands of worldwide news it watches. Human editorial input does come into the system, however, in choosing exactly which sources Google News will pick from.
After it was launched, it didn't take long until different versions of the aggregators are available.
