Roboto font

12/01/2012

Roboto is a sans-serif typeface family introduced with Android mobile operating system version Ice Cream Sandwich. The font is described by Google as "modern, yet approachable" and "emotional". The font's family includes regular and oblique styles of Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Black, and Condensed widths.

The font was designed at Google by Christian Robertson, an interface designer for the company. Roboto is the replacement for its predecessor, the system-wide Droid font.

Since May 2013, the Roboto font became the default font for Google+, Google Play, and Google Maps.
