Writing an Article for the Search Engines

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a technique used in web publishing to increase a webpages visibility and traffic, which results in a higher ranking in search engines and more readers. Just like writing any articles on the internet, writing an article for SEO requires writing skill, strategic placements for keywords and hyperlinks.

The internet is populated with articles for almost any topic. The probability for a new "rewritten" article to be seen is less optimal if it doesn't use SEO.

Beside being written with correct grammar and vocabulary, an internet article that use SEO should be engaging, and informative. If at all possible, it should present a new angle on a specific topic, provide a good hook in the beginning so people will want to read on, and contain information that is in some way important to your readers.

A well-written article with good content will attract more traffic, which converts to more readers to a website/blog. Articles with good traffic will also make it more attractive to link marketers and advertisers.

Writing for search engines is very much a matter of common sense, and the application of some very simple points that are based on the idea of well constructed articles, and well constructed websites. A good article should provide readers a benefit they can visualize, or offer something of value to them that is applicable and relevant to their lives or businesses. It should be something they can relate to easily.

Keywords, Phrases and Title

Phrases and keywords are important and must be included in the metadata of the page, which is part of the HTML code. Key phrases and keywords are words, or combinations of words, that people would use to search for information on the topic about which the website/blog is giving.

Key phrases and keywords are registered by search engine crawlers that "crawl" across web pages and websites and analyze them for content and quality of content. One of the ways they do this is to register the keywords and key phrases to determine the subject of a page; but they also detect how often each key word or phrase is used, whether a page is grammatically correct, and what types of inbound and outbound hyperlinks (links to other pages that are somehow relevant) there are.

Writing internet articles that are engaging, informative and interesting can take time. Every article should have a obvious title and short paragraphs with sub headers. Important keywords should be placed in the upper part of the article, preferably in the first sentence, and at the very least in the first paragraph.

Important keywords and phrases can be put in italics or bold to increase its density. It's important to understand that a good keyword usage is supported not by the amount of times it is used in an article, but by the combinations of other relevant keywords it is with.

Creating Hyperlinks and Sharing

Hyperlinks are links to another webpage that is relevant to your topic. An article can highlight a work or phrase and add the web address to link. Make sure every link is a quality website that offers similar information and easy navigation.

Creating hypertext links that are embedded within the content of an article, is a great way of increasing general interest, as well as allowing a higher chance of search engine spiders being able to reach it.

After the article has been written, it's obvious that the world must know it for people to see it. The best and easiest way to get started is by sharing a link to the article on social media networks and have your friends and followers re-share it.
