Claudia puts a checkmark on every single category on what most heterosexual men on the internet would sought after when it comes to online nudity and pornography.
In her photos, Claudia shows herself as a young Caucasian woman with straight jet-black bangs as hairstyle and big blue-green eyes.
And with her alabaster-colored, blemish-free skin, she managed to amplify the delicate Slavic-like features of her face.
From her appearance on Reddit's r/Faces subreddit, Claudia is exactly the kind of woman that average men would drool over.
That, until people realized that she isn't the woman she is said to be.
Or, she isn't the woman she is supposed to be because apparently, the woman doesn't exist. Claudia is never alive, as explained by a Reddit user.
"Sorry to ruin the surprise I guess. After browsing this persons profile, they're using AI generated images that they've made and passing them off as real. Good on them, was waiting for this to happen eventually. Whatever you're using for your prompts try adding blemishes and imperfections, this looks too processed but otherwise good on you."
"Keep up the good work. This is honestly a great use case to see if AI can sell or would go unnoticed. It did [...] "
Claudia was introduced using a selfie photo, showing her with just the appropriate amount of cleavage sticking out of her black-white blouse.
She made her debut appearance, after her Reddit account made several lewd comments on others' posts, preying on unsuspecting Reddit users.
Baits include explicit posts describing Claudia's sexual escapades, including her giving handjobs, having sex with a "raw" penis, first time anal sex, to using butt plugs in public.
After her first photo, Claudia posted a second photo to show her shapely body. more cleavage, while wearing a black brassiere above a black short skirt overlaying garters and black stockings. And on her third photo, she shows her behind, posing provocatively in black lingerie boasting her extreme curvature.
She received lots of attention, with some users even willing to pay to see her bare even more skin.
But behind her alluring looks, Claudia is the creation of two computer science students who said that she was created as a joke, after they came across a Reddit post about a man who made $500 catfishing users with photos of real women.
The two made about $100 selling Claudia's nudes, until they revealed the truth.
"We don’t really know how to think about this, the person buying the pictures is happy with their purchase since they are looking for porn," they explained.
"We never really said those are pictures of a real person, and buyers never really asked. They just assumed."
While a handful of tech-savvy Redditors were able to identify Claudia as a creation of some AI technology, most people couldn't digest that fact, because Claudia wasn’t explicitly labeled as such.
"You could say this whole account is just a test to see if you can fool people with AI pictures," the creators said, admitting to their intentions.
"You could compare it to the vtubers, they create their own characters and play as an entirely different person. We honestly didn’t think it would get this much traction."
For what she's worth, Claudia was created by Stable Diffusion, an AI that can generate shockingly realistic-looking photos using nothing but a text prompt.
In this case, the text prompt to create the selfie for Claudia, was a woman in her house “without makeup with black hair, shoulder length hair, simple background, straight hair, hair bangs.”
Claudia's post on Reddit's r/Faces prompted many users reporting the post, leading to a moderator for the group, who asked not to be named, to post a disclaimer clarifying that AI-generated photos are not against the subreddit’s rules.
"I take a caveat emptor approach with these things," the moderator said. "If people think it is real and want to do something outside of my subreddit, that is on them."
"This photo may be AI generated, it may not," said the moderator. "Either way it is not against our rules."
" [...] Moderators are aware of it. Any future reports will be given to the Admins as 'Report Abuse'."
Claudia is considered one of the first "fictional adult content creator" to be generated by AI that actually earned money.
This should spark concerns because despite the fact that generative AIs have taken huge steps and popularity, most part of the world is still not aware of it and its dangers.
In the past, most discussions about the dangers posed by AI and adult content have focused on the prevalence of deepfake, a term used to describe an image or video that uses a person’s face without their consent.
When the technology was introduced on Reddit, people were quickly using it to superimpose celebrities' faces onto porn stars' bodies.
But this time, people should be aware fakery doesn't only involve consent because there is new kind of convincing fakery that is just a few words away.
What this means, it's certain that in the close future, more AI-generated imageries like Claudia's would make rounds on the internet, with the people behind the keystrokes earn money from the fakeries they created on platforms that include pornographic websites, as well as OnlyFans.
Then there is the question about whether "AI adult creators" could one day supplant real ones.
This is because with just a few words, anyone can create bespoke, custom porn.
But what makes it uncanny, is the way the photos can look like.
Unlike AI-generated erotic arts of some cartoon characters or imaginary beings that are anyone could obviously see are fakes, Claudia cannot be easily spotted.
With demands for content that show real people engaging in sex acts and intercourse, AIs could make the authenticity of future pornographic content questionable.
Lonely men being scammed out of their hard-earned cash by some fake porn sites is nothing new, but the world of AI is making it easier than ever.
