Uber against the world it is in

The ride-hailing service Uber has made a series of missteps made by and within the company. In its quest for rapid growth and world domination, it has bended many rules just to get business advantages.

Uber is under allegations of sexism among members of its management, was found using a tool to identify and ditch riders who were government employees, building app it calls "Hell" to track Lyft drivers, and ‘fingerprinting’ iPhones in such a way that Uber could always identify each of those devices even after they had their data erased.

Uber has gone to extent to even geofenced Apple’s Cupertino headquarters in its fingerprinting tool, so that Apple's own engineers wouldn't be able to spot the illicit code on iOS devices.

It was reported that Uber CEO Travis Kalanick met Apple CEO Tim Cook after Uber's iPhone app was caught fingerprinting iOS devices. Violating Apple's App Store policy, Cook urged Kalanick to disable the fingerprinting or the app won't be allowed to stay in the App Store.

Although the fingerprinting technique isn't uncommon, the problem was because Uber's implementation was hiding its real intentions.

Kalanick

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has a drive to achieve his goals is seen as a ‘blindness to boundaries’ for all that's happened with the company. Seen as the person behind most of the fiasco, Kalanick is known to back down only when caught or cornered.

He is also a person that has to win at whatever he puts in his mind into.

Kalanick and Uber have flouted transportation and safety regulations and capitalize on weaknesses of both legal laws and loopholes on restrictions. Other allegations Kalanick was caught into also include the tape of him fighting with an Uber driver.
