Once a hype, there is no stopping it until it stops.
The AI field was kind of dull and boring. But after OpenAI introduced ChatGPT and DALL·E, pretty much all tech companies began experimenting on the technology.
Whereas smaller companies tend to opt to use OpenAI's product, bigger companies with larger resources try to compete.
And Meta is one of the latter.
In response to DALL·E, Midjourney and Stability AI's Stable Diffusion, Meta introduces its own AI-powered image generator.
The company calls it 'Imagine with Meta AI'.

On its announcement, the company said that:
Imagine with Meta AI, which is powered by Meta’s existing Emu image generation model, is able to create high-resolution images from text prompts.
Image with Meta AI is meant to compete with the likes of OpenAI's DALL·E 3
While the AI was originally designed to run inside chat applications, Meta has broken out the AI, and put into a web-based tool to compete more directly with the top models in the industry.
At first, Meta is making it available for users in the U.S., and just like Bing AI, it can also generate four images per prompt.
In the blog post, Meta also revealed over 20 new AI-driven features that are being added to its apps.
"To close out the year, we’re testing more than 20 new ways generative AI can improve your experiences across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp — spanning search, social discovery, ads, business messaging and more."
Together, the AI products are meant to upgrade pretty much everything Meta has.
"We’re evolving Meta AI, adding new features to the messaging experience while also leveraging it behind the scenes to power smart capabilities, too," Meta said.
