Indonesia's President Joko Widodo has asked Google to bring its Loon balloons to Indonesia. The deal that involves Indonesia's Telkomsel, XL Axiata dan Indosat, is announced at Google's Mountain View headquarter.

Google's co-founder Sergey Brin attended the event and meets Telkomsel's CEO Ririek Adriansyah, XL Axiata's CEO Dian Siswarini and CEO Indosat's CEO Alexander Rusli, while the balloon is displayed on the background.

By bringing Project Loon to Indonesia, Google attempts to bring the rest of the nation's 17,000 archipelago to the internet, making it the largest ambition in Loon's 2 years history.

The country is the third nation outside the U.S. to initiate the test after New Zealand, Brazil and Australia.
