Twitter Rolls Out 'Night Mode' For Its Desktop And Mobile Device Users

The microblogging platform Twitter is rolling out 'Night Mode' for its desktop website.

For Twitter desktop users, they can enable the Night Mode by clicking on their profile photo, to then select 'Night Mode' (the option has a crescent moon icon next to it) from the drop-down menu.

To disable night mode, users can click on the Night mode setting again.

Activating Night Mode turns Twitter's usual white screens and light blue theme turns into a dark navy blue, and fills up the moon icon with blue.

While the color combination loses Twitter's well-known bright and cheerful UI, the feature that is also available on its iOS and Android app, simply makes Twitter more easier to the eyes, especially when browsing with minimum lighting.

Twitter's Night Mode has been available on Twitter’s mobile apps since 2016. After previously testing the feature on a small group of mobile users, Twitter finally releases the feature globally.

Users can also make Night Mode to switch on and off automatically at sunset and sunrise on some mobile devices.

Twitter users don't necessarily need Twitter to have its own night mode, since dedicated apps like TweetDeck for Mac already has its own dark display mode.

However, Twitter in bringing its own Night Mode is its way to make sure that the feature is available to virtually every Twitter users, regardless of what platform they use.
