SEA-ME-WE 2 (South-East Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 2) was a submarine optical fiber cable system. It was based on the success of SEA-ME-WE 1, and was the longest underwater cable (18,751 km) before being replaced by the SEA-ME-WE 3.

The cable consisted of two single-mode-fiber pairs with a combined capacity of 1.12 Gbit/s. It has 151 repeaters and 9 branches.

The SEA-ME-WE 2 was owned by Consortium (52 owners), and connected Pakistan, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, Cyprus, Italy, France and Myanmar.
