Yahoo! acquired mobile messaging app MessageMe. The app that has raised $10 million in Series A funding in 2012, in a round led by former Mozilla's CEO John Lilly of Greylock Partners. The deal will make MessageMe's team of 8 people in joining Yahoo!.
The messaging service has had its share of troubles before the acquisition with its products and growth. The app which gave users a quick and easy way to send photos, videos, audio recordings, and hand-drawn doodles, was never quite as popular as other messaging services, yet Snapchat was interested to acquire it before Yahoo!.
Beside Snapchat, MessageMe had also been courted an app maker out of Europe, Truecaller.
