When it comes to making a blog/website profitable, how a landing page looks is critical. The results may vary from visitors' appreciation, sales to them leaving the site.

Landing page is where visitors first land when they reach a site. If this page is confusing, unattractive or irrelevant, the website will quickly lose its visitor. This is the reason why a landing page is one of the most important page in an entire website.

To understand the concept of a landing page, websites shouldn't overwhelm visitors with information and distractions. It's therefore best not to have any ads or multiple offering on a landing page. A landing page may have different purposes. There are 3 main types of landing pages:

  • Print advertising.
  • TV and other sources of commercial.

With a landing page, websites only have seconds to make the right kind of impact on visitors. After that, they will either take the action within the website or navigate away from the website.

Design and Images

A landing page should be attractive, and an attractive design and compelling image can make all the difference. This will grab the eyes of the reader.

A website design's proximity is what matters to people when they arrive at a landing page. How the navigation are laid, how the colors match, how the columns separate elements, how the headlines look like and so forth. With images, a website's design can be more attractive for viewers to stay and appreciate.

Using White Space

A website's landing page should be uncluttered and all clearly visible for pleasant viewing. This is one of the main characteristics of an effective landing page.

An ordinary page that may contain a long article, video or other content usually has too many distractions to be a good landing page. Websites should have its call to action to stands out.

The use of white space helps shift the visitors' eyes around so they can take in the full elements of the page design. This creates emphasis on the text or design objects so as to separate them from each other. It helps reduce the clutter. One thing about having excessive spacing is even though it's an area that has nothing in its space, it doesn't necessarily have to be the color white.

Matches Ads or Offers

One feature of all high converting landing pages is that they are well matched to the off-page ad or offer that brings visitors to a website. Whether people find the website's landing page from an ad, article or video, make sure that the content is not misleading.

Some marketers make the mistake of trying to hype their offer to increase traffic to their landing pages. This may increase traffic, but it will produce dismal conversions. If the landing page is a perfect match for the copy, however, the traffic you get will be valuable and high converting.

Clear Call to Action

With a landing page, websites have to make the most out of every word, spared and uncluttered. This all starts with headlines for pages and articles. Headlines are crucial in any type of page, and this includes landing pages.

Once the website gets the readers' attention, the website have to give them a good reason to take action. Whether the site wants them to click on a link to the sales page or subscribe and register.
