Alexandra Daddario is an actress who was born in New York City on March 16, 1986.

She began her career in 1998, and only had minor rolls throughout her early career. Her first big break in films was when she was cast as Annabeth Chase and is best-known for her roles in the Percy Jackson films.

After becoming a much more successful and well-known celebrity, she leaped forward with her role in True Detective

The Texas Chainsaw 3D actress has a minor roll in the series, where she plays Lisa Tragnetti, a court stenographer, and a mistress who is having an affair with Detective Martin "Marty" Hart (Woody Harrelson) in 1995.

But her role has become the turning point of her career, after one notable scene where Daddario's character appears nude during an intimate moment with Marty.

In the scene, Marty paus a visit to Lisa's house after a night of drinking.

During the drunken affair, Lisa seductively undresses for a handcuffed Marty, showing not only her breasts but also a glimpse of her pubic hair.

While this scene is meant to confirm that Marty is indeed having an affair, meaning that the nude and sex scene were meant to advance the plot, the scene also advanced Daddario's career to a whole different level.

In an interview at a later time, Daddario recalled how her time on the series has given her a new meaning of fame.

"Getting naked on a show where I didn't have a huge role, I didn't know what to expect," she said.

"And then of course that episode aired and [my manager] calls me in the morning after the episode aired and she was like, 'The phone's been ringing off the hook all morning. The phone won't stop ringing!' And all of a sudden, everyone in town wanted to meet with me and then I booked San Andreas."

Daddario isn't even shy of marketing her scene on her social media account.

The most notable was when U.S. President went up to HBO’s chief executive, Richard Plepler, at the state dinner for France, and asked him to have him an advance DVD copy for True Detective and Game of Thrones.

Obama is known for being a fan of dark dramas, and watching True Detective makes sense.

But of course, a lot of people who watch the series, watched the series just because of this Daddario's scene.

While everyone was online searching for spoilers and scene cuts, Obama reportedly already had his own, directly provided by the HBO.

So naturally, Daddario tweeted this.

Daddario's career in the film industry was a different matter after her brief appearances in True Detective.

The frequency in which Daddario was offered work and the size of the roles all changed since her nude scene.

In just one year, she had big roles in three movies; Baywatch, The House, and The Layover.

"I think one thing about this role for me was that it was a huge challenge for me, and I saw it as a good challenge. I saw it as an interesting challenge," Daddario said.

"I really wanted to be part of the show, and I understood why the nudity and all of that was required of the character…. The character is really different from anything that I’ve done before. The nudity was just part of that."

Long story short, Daddario has candidly discussed how this role impacted her career, acknowledging the attention it brought while embracing her sex appeal for professional purposes.
