Maggots are insects' larvae. But in particular, they are larvae of flies, most notably from houseflies, cheese flies, and blowflies.
Usually, they are found in recycling carrion and garbage, attacking crops and foodstuffs, on carcasses or other rotten tissue, spreading microbial infections, and causing myiasis. While they can live in some of the worst places on Earth and feeding on almost anything, maggots are mostly comfortable feeding on remains or open wounds.
And not inside humans, and definitely not inside a woman's vagina.
A video was spreading on TikTok and Twitter, showing how a woman who is about to have sexual intercourse with her partner, has maggots inside her genital.
And this disturbing video was spreading virally.
The video that is 2 minutes and 22 seconds long went viral as more people became curious of it.

According to dr H. Hanny Rono Sulistyo, an obstetrician and a gynecologist, and also dr. Boyke Dian Nugraga, who is also a sexologist, the authenticity of the video should be questioned.
The doctors said that the possibility of the video that has shocked the virtual world is just a fabrication.
According to them, women's vaginas aren't suitable for maggots to live or feed on, especially when the women are healthy.
Even on women who are careless about their hygiene, maggots aren't likely to live on them either.
This is because maggots are larvae.
Maggots' hatch from eggs that must have been deposited there in the first place. Maggots are not parasites that travel from one place to another as part of their life cycle.
The two doctors suggested that the video is likely a fake, and probably made for shock factor. Or, the couple may have put the maggots there, simply because they are attracted with things related to necrophilia.
While maggots may live inside a woman if she has dead cancer tissue inside her reproductive organ, in this case, it's very unlikely.
The doctors then said that worms that may live inside vaginas, are pinworms.
Pinworms are known as Enterobius vermicularis, or threadworms and seatworms.
They are parasitic worms that can live in the intestines of living animals and humans. The infection caused by these worms is known as pinworm infection, or enterobiasis.
The process of infection starts when the person ingests the worm's eggs.
The eggs then travel to the person's gastrointestinal tract, and after a few weeks, they will hatch before migrating towards the colon. It's during this process, where the hatchlings become adults, and then mate. While the male pinworms die shortly after mating, the females will travel towards the colon, and start laying their eggs near the rectum, before emerging from the anus for oxygen. These female worms will stay near the orifice, depositing all of their eggs, before dying.
This final process usually makes the anus itch. Feces and scratching of the orifice will migrate the eggs to other places, which will entice the repetition of the whole process.
In some cases, the worms can travel through the perianal folds, which are the folds around the anus, and also to the perineum, which is the skin between the anus and the vagina.
And in rarer cases, the worms can be introduced to the vagina. In much rarer cases, the parasite also can travel up from the vagina to the uterus, up to the fallopian tubes and even to the pelvic organs.
In this cases, the problem can cause inflammation and other sickness.
