PUBG Mobile, the mobile game adaptation of PUBG: Battlegrounds for users on Android and iOS, was the second most-downloaded mobile game of 2018, with nearly 300 million downloads worldwide.
Having such a huge amount of users, its developer, LightSpeed & Quantum Studio, a division of Tencent Games, is certain that holding an in-game event would garner lots of audience and buzz.
Because of that, it is bringing the world-famous K-Pop group BLACKPINK to the game.
To bring the group's high-energy music and impressive choreography to the virtual world. the game creates 3D avatar characters for each of BLACKPINK members.
The official 3D avatar character versions of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa would be performing on behalf of BLACKPINK during the group's 'BLACKPINK x PUBG Mobile 2022 In-Game Concert: The Virtual' event.
The news about the event was first shared, through a black and poster:

The music video is meant to be a treat for fans who have waited for nearly 2 years for BLACKPINK's comeback.
After the in-game concert event, BLACKPINK would be releasing various collaboration items with PUBG Mobile, such as exclusive outfits the BLACKPINK wear for the PUBG performance, voice packs, and more.

YG Entertainment, the South Korean multinational entertainment agency for Blackpink, said that:
"BLACKPINK will reveal a special track at ‘The Virtual.’ The concert that will take place in the virtual world will provide fans with a unique new experience. In particular, the performances will be completed with motion capture, adding a lifelike vibe similar to the real deal."
This event marks the second time the girl group collaborates with PUBG, since the game used songs from BLACKPINK's 'THE ALBUM' as the lobby background music for PUBG Mobile.
