Anyone can be anything, and that anyone has the right to choose what to do and what not to do.
The Olympics, also known as the Olympic Games, are a global sporting event held every four years. And in 2024, during the Paris summer Olympics, athletes from all over the world gather in one place to compete and be the best to represent their countries, and they are all talented individuals indeed.
But that doesn't mean that athletes are always full-time athletes.
They may have other hobbies, or other work, or maybe a side hustle.
The same goes for Olympics pole vault star Alysha Newman.

Some athletes celebrate their victory through many expressions and poses, which depend on the individuals.
From emotional outbursts and physical gestures of joy, biting the medal and so forth, Newman did something quite different.
When the Canadian athlete won bronze at the Stade de France on August 7, clearing 4.85 meters and set a new national record for her home country, she followed up this historic moment with her own way.
In a now-viral celebration, she celebrated it by tweaking.
She is seen thrusting her hips and buttocks in a rhythmic, bouncing motion.
While she only tweaked for just about a second, this 'gesture' quickly caught the eyes and the interests of fans and spectators, due to being unusual.
Newman had previously mentioned her presence on the subscription fan site OnlyFans.
And as a matter of fact, before the Olympics, the 30-year-old reduced prices for new subscribers in an "Olympic sale," in order to capitalize on those finding her account during Paris 2024.
After her victory, she posted the news to her OnlyFans account, saying that she was still "buzzing" after the event, and that she "might pick up some presents for you [subscribers] before I leave."
The athlete shared her thoughts after winning the bronze medal, calling it a "surreal moment."
"I laugh because getting third is, I mean I’ve never got third, but it’s funny because you have to still wait and sit there and wait until the other girls are done," she said. "So, I’m so awkwardly standing there like, ‘What do I do? Do I celebrate? Do I kiss everyone? Do I cry?'"
"It was a really surreal moment and it was awesome."
Many fans and spectators praised Newman for being the athlete she is.
After all, the bronze medal she won in historic for Canada, marking the country’s first medalist in the Olympic pole vault for over a century.
But with Newman winning and that more people began to know what she does when she is not in her athlete mode. some mocked her for her side hustle.

"Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans. I can’t change many people’s minds," Newman said.
"But this website has connected me with many fans, more than any other pole vaulter before. What others think about it doesn’t bother me. I am who I am and I do it well."
It's worth noting that on OnlyFans, Newman has posted "a lot of (her) training sessions."
And not to mention, the nature of being on OnlyFans also means that Newman does show quite some skin, including her seriously pronounced abdominal muscles, and some nudity.
It's also worth noting that Newman was one of Maxim's hot 100 women in 2021.
