Facebook's Like, Share and Follow button are seen as one of the most visible yet powerful philosophy that the company wants to spread. The familiar blue buttons that could be found in millions of web pages, are having a face lift.
On June 29th, 2016, the company redesigned the buttons as a mean to accommodate mobile users better. This is because around one in three Facebook likes now comes from a mobile device. And Facebook doesn't want to miss the chance to appeal more to those wandering users.
The change is clearly visible but not major. The Like button for example, now sports a thumbs-up replacing the Facebook "f" logo. And the accompanying bubble to notify the number of likes, is now moved to the inside of the box rather than being placed outside.
Facebook' changes to the button has started to roll out. About 6 percent increase in likes has been observed ever since the button has been updated with the new design.
"Our hypothesis was that more people would recognize the thumbs-up icon on the like button, so we conducted qualitative and quantitative tests to measure them side by side," said the company in a blog post. "The results revealed a 6 percent increase in likes, so we are switching the like button from the Facebook 'f' logo to the thumbs-up icon."

As for the Share and Follow button, they retain the Facebook logo that the Like button doesn't, but they have been updated to fit the new design philosophy. The icons are now more integrated as the number of likes and the symbol displayed are within the button.
The changes, like previously said, are minor. So any sites that were having Facebook buttons, the change in the design won't affect its compatibility or scalability. So any inconvenience shouldn't be present.
Facebook mentions that these buttons have been tested on a wide scale before going live, so the company has done its due diligence. Testing is usually conducted across a wide spectrum of people, ranging from a variety of countries, in order to get a better understanding of what the global audiences want.

Facebook is known as the social giant with more than a billion users. Operating worldwide, the social media industry, Facebook comes second to none.
Facebook's design language has been changed so many times since its launch. But there aren't any other feature that get older than the Like Button. During that time, the Like button has seen so many things in life, has been used by countless of occasions from the very good to even the bad. it has seen features come and go, but this time it's its turn to change.
So no more vintage looks. Like is now new.
The company has achieved much more than any other names in the social media in industry, and has managed to come out with some innovations and strategy that further propel it forward.
