The internet continues to grow, and Google is continuously improving itself to remain relevant.
In this case, since the launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI that ignited a fierce competition in the tech world, Google wants Gemini to be better than its rivals, especially OpenAI that has been the benchmark of chatbots for many.
Determined to stay ahead, Google rushed the develop its own AI chatbot, called rebranded as Gemini, which was previously called Bard.
After making Gemini 2.0 available to all Gemini users, Google is now updating it to be a lot more conversational.
To do this, Google makes Gemini Live so much easier to talk to.
Google’s latest update to Gemini is making the bot more like receiving a phone call than chatting with a cloud-based AI model.
Previously, when users exited Gemini Live on Android while keeping it active in the background, the interface would display a simple notification with an option to "End Live mode." In this update, Gemini Live can now mimic a phone call, offering the ability to "Hang Up" or put the AI on "Hold."
If accessed from the lock screen, users will see a notification titled "Live with Gemini," along with a note indicating the AI is "Listening."
The update that follows the general availability of Gemini 2.0 Flash model, is kind of subtle, as it doesn't introduce new features or capabilities whatsoever.
The bot isn't getting smarter or more capable.
But here, Google has altered Gemini Live notifications to enhance the AI’s human-like presence.

While this may seem like a minor adjustment, it underscores Google’s evolving vision for AI in 2025.
Gemini Live is built for real-time conversations—that’s its core purpose.
That’s why it should live up to its name.
To ensure that Gemini Live with Gemini 2.0 can do what it's supposed to, Google is making it better at understanding multiple languages, dialects, and accents.
The update makes Gemini capable of understanding multiple languages in a single conversation, meaning if users switch between English and Indonesia during a free-flowing discussion, for example, the AI should be able to follow along better than before.
This should result in smoother conversations, better real-time translations, and overall improved voice interactions.
According to a Google support page, Gemini Live currently supports 45 languages.

In its explanation, Google explained that the update makes Gemini Live more "dynamic and engaging."
Additionally, Google is enhancing Gemini 2.0 by introducing a range of AI models tailored for different tasks, describing that the company's "experimental" version of Gemini 2.0 Pro is now the which it describes as its most powerful consumer-facing model to date.
This version is primarily geared toward coders and programmers and is available to users subscribed to Gemini Advanced.
For developers seeking AI-powered efficiency, this could be a game-changer.
Google claims that while the new updated Gemini 2.0 model outperforms Gemini 2.0 Flash in most benchmarks, it falls short in one area—providing factually accurate responses when handling diverse user requests and documents.
