Google Wants iOS Users To 'Bring The Best Of Google To Your iPhone'

Android, thug life

What Google's Android is that Apple's iOS isn't, is that the operating system is extremely customizable.

iOS has long been a straightforward experience. With less gimmick and personalization, things are rather dull in the ecosystem. While Apple has made a lot of improvements in the sector since iOS 14, customization is never on the same level as Android.

This is the proud Google wants to "bring the best of Google to your iPhone."

Following the announcement of the highly-anticipated iPhone 13 and iOS 15, the world is expecting huge sales.

Knowing that it competitor is about to earn a huge amount of cash, Google wants to at least be part of the hype, by convincing iPhone users to transform their ‌device’s home screen to look like Android.

In a blog post, written by Google's Director for the iOS platform, features screenshots of an ‌iPhone 13‌ home screen filled with Google apps and widgets.

The post suggests that iPhone users should consider replacing some of Apple's default iOS apps, such as Photos, Safari, Calendar, Reminders, and even Phone, with Google's equivalent of those apps, like Google ‌Photos‌, Google Chrome, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and Google Voice, respectively.

We know how important it is to get your Home Screen just right — and you can personalize it with our selection of widgets.

For example, you can search the web, keep an eye on your commute, review your latest workout, and rock out to your favorite playlist all at once with our Google app, Google Maps, Google Fit and YouTube Music widgets.

Or if you have a busy work day ahead, you can choose to keep your Google Calendar, Gmail and Google Drive widgets front and center — plus any other apps you need to stay focused.

Starting a new school year? There are also plenty of widgets to help you have a productive day of studying. And you can easily place them around any other apps you need, like Google Classroom or YouTube.

Through the post, Google encouraged iPhone owners to utilize the wide variety of ‌widgets‌ its iOS apps offer.

Google is even making use of iOS' Smart Stacks feature, to entice users to stack up different Google widgets on top of each other.

Google said that if the right Google ‌widgets‌ are placed on the home screen, users will "never even have to leave" their home screens to stay caught up.

Bring The Best Of Google To Your iPhone

Android is a diverse ecosystem. This is why there are a lot of Android phones.

In fact, there are too many Android phones out there.

While this is giving Google an advantage in terms of reach, the diversity also creates fragmentations. And this is something that Google cannot easily solve.

One way to provide the Android Google wants, is through its Pixel initiative.

But when comparing its Pixel phones and iPhones, even Google knows that the two are not in the same league.

Because of that fact, Google hopes ‌that iPhone users, especially those who are receiving their brand new iPhone 13 phones, can consider bringing "the best of Google" to their device instead of just simply purchasing an Android or a Pixel phone.

If anything Google can do best, is putting its brand at the forefront.

Google is already synonymous with the internet and mobile. And bringing the best of Google to its competitor is just one way to remind Apple users that Google exists there on iOS.

It's something that Google can show off in front of the many Apple fanboys out there.
