Niche Entice: LinkedIn Page Admins Given Three Ways To 'Tap Into Employees'

LinkedIn is where businesses, organizations and others gather. And here, building a sense of community is more important than ever.

Entities that are active in socializing their brand names, can impact how their customers feel. Socializing can also effect how others in the business interact with them, and how the brands recruit and retain talents. Socializing on LinkedIn can also open the possibilities of customer loyalty.

LinkedIn may be dull if compared to Facebook or other social media networks. But LinkedIn's approach is unique.

And this uniqueness brings LinkedIn into introducing three features to "help you better tap into your organization’s most important asset — your employees. "

According to LinkedIn on its business blog post, "these updates are designed to help your employees share your company’s key updates or highlight their incredible work. We’re also adding tools to help you optimize your LinkedIn Page.

The three features announced by LinkedIn include:

1. Employee Notifications

This feature allows Page Admins to let employees on the platform know when an update has been posted on the company’s Page. This way, they should be informed about the latest updates, and can share the information with their connections.

The tool as safeguards to limit notifications to once every seven days. This is to make sure that employees aren't getting spammed, or spam the feed of others by sharing multiple company updates in a short amount of time.

"With Employee Notifications, Page Admins can now alert employees of important posts, which employees can then engage with or share to their LinkedIn network. This makes it easy for your employees to share your organization’s content and amplify your messages."

2. Kudos and Team Moments

These two provide custom content formats for posting new hiring announcements, spotlighting work achievements and highlighting employees on LinkedIn Pages.

In other words, LinkedIn wants Pages to be more engaging. Here, Page Admins can tech new members about their organizations, welcome new people, engage with employees, or celebrate their organization's culture.

"By highlighting the people behind your brand, you reveal the human side of your organization to prospective customers and employees."

3. Completion Meter

This allows Page Admins to know what information is missing on their company Page.

According to LinkedIn, completed Pages earn 30% more page views per week compared to Pages with incomplete information. LinkedIn said that less than 5% of Page Admins with an incomplete Page update the company Page because they don’t know what details are missing.

To entice completion, Page Admins that complete their Page are offered access to additional features, like Content Suggestions, which surfaces content trending within their exact target audience.

"Similar to the profile completion meter we offer members, this new tool will help guide Page Admins through the process of completing and taking full advantage of their Page. "

As previously mentioned, LinkedIn is rather quiet and less engaging that most other popular social media networks.

For reasons like how users should present themselves to others professionally in a more formal way, LinkedIn is more like a place to build connections that are business-related.

To those that love to engage on social media networks, this may not be fun at all.

With the three features, LinkedIn wants to put more 'fun' into this 'professionalism' sphere. By having more notification support, ways to celebrate, and helping Page Admins complete their profile, LinkedIn wants its platform to be more engaging, and at the same time helping brands expand their organic reach.

What's more, the three features should also give users the opportunity to amplify their content through employee brand advocacy initiatives.

These updates are part of LinkedIn’s larger efforts to make users create more niche conversations on the platform that are outside their ad campaigns.
