X, a platform once known as Twitter, was a simple place to be.
Back in its earlier years, it was meant to be a communication model where people can easily share real-time information using short and simple updates. Twitter was originally meant to be a microblogging platform, born during the rise of social media and during the era of SMS.
Fast forward, after Elon Musk acquired Twitter and renamed to X, things changed quite rapidly.
Musk wants it to be the everything app, which means that it should do pretty much everything.
And this time, X has entered the streaming wars, using what it calls the 'X TV' app.
"Beta version of X TV is out," said Musk in a post on X.

Initially available in for some Amazon Fire TVs, Google TVs and some LG panels, the X TV app takes the form of a typical-looking video-streaming platform.
For example, it has rows of links for a very small number of original shows on the platform, including those from Musk-owned SpaceX and Tesla.
To use it, users need an X account to log in first, and after that, they will be presented with a curated list of videos that are already available on X.
Prior to the launch of this app, users who want to watch videos from X on the big screen must use the cast feature of their iOS or Android devices.
With the presence of the X TV app, users can navigate the catalog of X-wide video content more easily and without the need to connect with their smartphone.
Initially at least, that is just about it.
The X TV app is more or less, just a video delivery system for the X app.

However, according to its app listing on the Google Play Store, X markets the app as "the trusted global digital town square for everyone, on your TV!"
"Discover a new way to experience the world of X, as we bring you unique and engaging content right to your living room," the company added.
This move signifies X's ambition to expand its service coverage, which previously included integration with payment platforms, professional networks, and communications.
By introducing the TV app, X strives to become a major competitor in the video streaming market, providing a more immersive experience for users.
In all, the goal is to expand the X brand to carter other features, in an attempt to become more than just a social media platform.
