The 'Duck Story', A Short Film Completely Made By Generative AI Products

Using AI projects, and combining their results together, a man managed to create a compelling video.

Generative AIs are the hype. Since OpenAI announced ChatGPT, it didn't take long before the world took notice and got wowed by the generative AI's capabilities.

And then, it didn't take long until others come up with their own solutions. Some opted to partner with OpenAI to use ChatGPT, whereas others create their own solutions.

As a result of this, the market is populated by numerous, and various generative AI products that can do various things.

And this time, Roope Rainisto, an artist behind some NFT collections, a designer who also claims to be a creator and a screenwriter, said that he created the first 'full production AI movie.'

He created it using Runway's Gen-2, Bark (for speech), Tango (for sound effects), Riffusion (for touches of music), and MidJourney (to create init images for Gen-2).

The short film called "Duck Story" is a minute long, and depicts the dangers of drinking, driving, and ducks.

The next project Rainisto created, include the "Pizza Story."

He then created the "Agent Story."

And in yet another project, Rainisto created what he calls the "Dog Story."

Rainisto said that he's a "big believer" in performance capture being a key to making great movies in an AI pipeline.

"In the not too distant future, a smart writer will use AI to create a video version of their story (at least a part of it), put it up on YouTube, promote it themselves," he said, adding that when the stories gain popularity, those writers can simply reach out to publishers and producers, and have "concrete evidence in hand."

The biggest advantage of using AI to create videos, is the ability to "reshoot anything at any time, and as long as I want to."

The only big disadvantage of using AI to create scenes like these, is the lack of ability to reuse the same actor and location.
