With careers that span for almost her entire life, having appeared as a child model at the age of three and on screen since age 10, Lohan is no stranger to spotlight and publicity. But on the internet, especially on social media networks, she is just like most people, and kind of unlike some of her peers.
That in which she is not that fond of social media platforms.
While she does manage a few accounts on different platforms, the star does not post that often.
And among other reasons, this is why her debut on TikTok has made her a viral sensation.
The Mean Girls star introduced herself in her first post, with the correct pronunciation of her last name, which is apparently the name that many people got it all wrong.
"Hey everyone, it's Lindsay Lohan, and guess what?" Lohan said in her first video, which was posted on February 7th. "I'm on TikTok!"
On the video, she pronounced her last name "Lo-wen" as opposed to "Lo-han,"
It is shown that she placed the emphasis on the first syllable of her last name, stressing the "o" instead of the "a."
At first, some users joked that she had said it wrong.
"Lindsay... lowen?" One comment said, along with a confused emoji.
But many fans later realized that they've been mispronouncing her name for years.
While Lohan posted the video earlier this February 2022, it only gone viral in later weeks.
In the weeks since she joined TikTok, Lohan reposted some of her Planet Fitness ads, which aired during the Super Bowl, and recreated an iconic scene from the Parent Trap.
"Yes, you want to know the difference between us?" she mouthed. "I have class and you don't."
