Nubia Red Magic 3, The First Gaming Smartphone With Physical Cooling Fan

07/05/2019

With the mobile game market booming, smartphones' hardware components are required to have the durability needed for prolonged use, and this includes the ability to disperse heat.

One of the benefits of laptops and traditional computers is that, they have internal built-in fan(s) to help cool their components. With these, vendors can ensure that their hardware parts can last longer, even when they have to do hard work all day long.

And here, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia has announced the refresh for its popular mobile gaming device, by launching the Red Magic 3.

The company has taken the next step in portable gaming, by equipping the flagship phone with its own internal cooling fan.

According to Nubia, the fan is quiet (under 32dBA in 30m) and can spin up to a speed of 14,000RPM. The phone embeds the fan with its small corresponding air-fins under the phone's main camera system, keeping the overall Red Magic 3 aesthetics intact.

And to help with the cooling, the Red Magic 3 also utilizes a liquid cooling, a system already popular with other highend smartphones.

On the outside, the back panel of Red Magic 3 is made of nano-metal with radium carving, with the X-style and symmetrical design with diamond cutting technology. The RGB LED strip also makes way for that Red Magic logo LED light called Red Magic Eye, which can be always on or flickered.

With a 5,000mAH battery that features 27W quick charging (compatible with QC 4.0), Nubia markets the phone with the ability of having an hour of playtime after just 10 minutes worth of charging.

For the rear-facing camera, the phone has a single 48MP f/1.7 camera with Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor supporting 8K video recording. And for the front-facing camera, the phone is powered by a Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor.
