Microsoft Offers Free And Unlimited Use Of 'Copilot Voice' and OpenAI o1-Powered 'Think Deeper'

AI has become a revolutionary force behind an increasing number of businesses in pretty much the entire industries.

Since OpenAI created an arms race after the introduction of ChatGPT, pretty much all tech companies either adopt the generative AI, or create their own as rivals, or as supplements. And soon, everyone may have their own AI assistant.

And things aren't going anywhere but up.

Microsoft is a huge backer of OpenAI, but when it comes to business, business is business.

Microsoft has what it calls 'Copilot,' and since its launch, the Large Language Models-powered chatbot has been a rival of ChatGPT.

In fact, Copilot, which is partly powered by OpenAI's AI, has been offering many of the latter's paid features for free.

And this time, Microsoft strikes again, when it announced that its 'Copilot Voice' feature and its OpenAI o1-powered 'Think Deeper' feature are available for free, and with unlimited use.

In a blog post where it announces this freebies, Microsoft said that:

"We are seeing a lot of excitement for Voice and Think Deeper and we know many of you have been hitting limits. This should help. And if you haven’t tried some of these experiences yet, there has never been a better time."

When OpenAI released the o1 model, and company CEO Sam Altman said that the AI is the most powerful model available.

However, users who wish to use the model, must pay: OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro charges a whopping $200/month for unlimited access to the model. Or, they must subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, which gives subscribers access to the o1, but with limited access.

As a rival, Microsoft knows how it can take advantage of this.

Since Microsoft Copilot is partly powered by OpenAI's AI, including the o1, the company started giving access to the o1-powered Think Deeper to all Copilot users "everywhere at no cost" since earlier this 2025.

Now, Microsoft is taking that offer a step further by granting users unlimited access to the model.

As for the 'Voice Mode,' it allows users to communicate with Copilot through spoken language.

Users can access this feature by pressing the microphone button on the right-hand side of the Copilot prompt window. It features four different pre-set voices users can choose from.

With OpenAI charging users a free for accessing the o1 model, Microsoft in giving unlimited free access in Copilot is a pretty big deal.

The same is true of ChatGPT Voice Mode, which free users can only access in a limited capacity.

But there is a catch.

Microsoft said that free Copilot accounts may experience delays or interruptions during peak usage hours.

Users may even experience failure in using Think Deeper during those times.

This is where Microsoft puts its subscription-based Copilot Pro into good use.

Paying users of Copilot Pro "will retain preferred access to our latest models during peak usage," said Microsoft.

"We are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible."
