Cheslie Kryst, And The Social Media Posts She Shared Before She Committed Suicide

Cheslie Kryst, a model and also a former Miss USA who represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2019 competition, has died.

Born on April 28, 1991, she was only 30 years old when she committed suicide by jumping to her death from The Orion, a 60-story high-rise apartment building in New York City on Sunday morning, the New York Police Department has confirmed.

The woman resided on the 29th floor, and that she allegedly jumped from the top floor,.

It is reported that Kryst suffered from depression that led to her death.

Earlier on the day she died, the beauty pageant shared a final Instagram post with a heartbreaking caption, as hours later she would be identified as the woman who jumped from the high-rise apartment.

"May this day bring you rest and peace," she said in a selfie photo.

Tributes poured in as friends, fans and well-wishers attempt to come to terms with the news.

Kryst's family has confirmed her death and expressed their devastation.

"In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie," the statement reads.

"Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined."

"Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague—we know her impact will live on."

Kryst had served as a correspondent for Extra, an American TV program, from October 2019 until her death.

"Our hearts are broken," Extra said in a statement.

"Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends."

When some people mourned, others use this tragedy for entertainment and other purposes.

For example, Cheslie Kryst’s last TikTok post is about M&Ms. In the video, she is shown holding a package of the candies with her miniature likeness printed on them.

"When you shoot a TV segment at the M&Ms store and they surprise you with …. M&Ms with your face and name printed on them," the caption reads.

"Okay, I like it, Picasso," she said to the camera.

Some people would have never seen this video if Kryst, who was also an attorney, had not died by suicide.

The comment section is also biased with different opinions.

For example, some mourned and sent their condolences, while others just commented because they wanted to.

Others become amateur internet sleuths, as they gather to find "clues" hidden inside the video, thinking that Kryst's death is a crime.

"Are they SURE she wasn’t pushed?" one user asked. "There needs to be a full investigation on what really happened because something isn’t adding up … she seemed truly happy and full of life," another said.

"I believe something ain't right here. She had a pile of clothes to wash. She wasn’t trying to die," commented another.

Her last TikTok post has received more views than any of her previous TikTok posts.
