Sometimes, it's better for certain things to stay hidden, as their revelation can surprise or even unsettle people.
This is certainly the case with Diglett, a type of a Ground type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1, debuting in the original Pokémon Red and Green games, which were released in Japan on February 27, 1996.
It quickly became a memorable and somewhat mysterious Pokémon, especially due to its simple design—a small brown creature poking out of the ground with a cute, minimalist face.
Diglett also became one of the most discussed Pokémon on the internet, with one of the biggest talking points was what Diglett looks like underground.

Fans speculated endlessly, with theories ranging from tiny feet to monstrous, muscular bodies beneath the surface. This playful ambiguity became a recurring joke in the Pokémon community.
But at the Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, Pokémon offered a rare glimpse into what Diglett’s full body might look like.
And here, during Episode 23, Getting the Band Back Together!—first aired in Japan on April 20, 2017— Ash and his friends meet DJ Leo, a musician who performs with his Alolan Dugtrio.
Trouble arises when one of Dugtrio’s heads tries to leave the group to pursue a solo career.
Meanwhile, a wild Alolan Diglett, drawn to Dugtrio’s performance, aspires to join the band.
With the help of Ash and friends, DJ Leo resolves the conflict, convincing Dugtrio to stay together while welcoming Diglett as part of the act. The episode highlights the quirky personalities of Alolan Diglett and Dugtrio, blending humor and music.

One of the main highlights in this episode, is Diglett, or in particular, the Alohan version of the Diglett, which is a tiny, brown Pokémon that seems to be perpetually buried within the earth, leaving only its head visible.
What's known about this Diglett is that, it lives in tunnels and caves underneath the earth, where it feeds on tree roots and vegetables.
And in Alola, Diglett developed three fine gold whiskers on its head from living in soil with high iron content and volcanic environment.
Nothing is known about this creature, and how it appears underground.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team game mentions that Diglett has feet, although the exact size and appearance are unknown.
However, in Episode 23 of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, a seemingly excited Diglett is seen stretching itself like a rubber snake.
And through the comments, people at Reddit were both amused, scared, disgusted, and also amazed.
Some even joked that Diglett's body looks like a penis, further amusing fans.

Then, Pokémon seemingly revealed Diglett's full body without intention.
But this time, it's like for real.
Since Diglett was first introduced in the initial generation of Pokemon, Game Freak Inc. the Japanese video game developer, best known as the primary developer and co-owners of the Pokémon series of role-playing video games, has kept this a secret from fans, viewers and players.
Through Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video game, which was released in November 2022, glitches have been discovered including one that shows how Diglett is supposed to look like underground.
A user on Reddit shared a screenshot of their Diglett evolving which glitches through the nearby ground to show what the underside of the Pokemon and Paldea look like.
The image shows Diglett floating in midair, with a diamond-shaped rock that is holding the bottom of Diglett like a cup holding ice cream, or like a flying saucer.
Although the screenshot doesn't focus on the full evolution process, fans quickly stepped in with their various speculations and thoughts.
But regardless of how Duglett looks for real, the discussion continues for years and years, resulting to a free marketing to Pokémon on the internet.
