It started on a 4chan thread, where a user began a study about how to use Stable Diffusion AI to create hentai and other forms of NSFW adult content using just text prompts and images.
This happened during the time when people were still experimenting with Stable Diffusion, and 4chan having boards dedicated to it.
But due to how hentai has become a fetish to a lot of people, Hentai Diffusion genre was born.
The thread, called "Hentai Diffusion General" (tagged /HDG/), was started on September 7th, 2022, and features links to different resources on how to get started, as well as showcasing attempts at generating hentai using Stable Diffusion.
The thread was created because Stable Diffusion and other AI art platforms outright prohibit users from creating NSFW works, especially that involves real people. The platforms have strict filtering system that also block certain keywords from being processed by the AIs, preventing the generation of explicit imagery.
Because of the popularity, 4chan even had to notify users about the practical applications and potential that the technology would provide.
As the trend continues to spread, more threads were made about this emerging Hentai Diffusion trend, and as the technology behind Stable Diffusion improved, as well as the tools needed, results become more lifelike and impressive.
Using AI, Hentai Diffusion hentais can be made realistic. Among the things it could do, include but not limited to:
