Instagram Introduces 'Live Scheduling' And 'Practice Mode' To Pamper Content Creators

While things on the internet and social media networks happen 24/7, prior planning is often necessary to maximize results.

For content creators and influencers on the Facebook-owned Instagram, they can use Instagram Live to broadcast video to their followers in real-time as part of Instagram Stories.

In a tweet, Instagram is ramping up a notch, by introducing a tool to let those people schedule Instagram Live up to 90 days in advance.

Calling it 'Live Scheduling', it allows content creators to prepare in advance, and have time to build the buzz for better engagement when the time comes.

As for viewers, Instagram said that they can "sign up" for reminders to tune in.

The company believes that the feature would help with “discovery and distribution."

To use the scheduling feature for Instagram Live, users can open the app and swipe to open the camera, to then swipe again to find Live.

Here, users can select ‘Schedule’ in order to set the name of the event. Then, they can set the date and time for the event.

After all is finished, users can share it as a post with an image.

On the viewers' side, they can see the post, description, and also the prompt that contains the live link.

Instagram is a bit late to the party when it comes to scheduling live videos, as YouTube has offered this feature for years now.

Even Instagram's parent company Facebook Live has this feature.

Earlier in June, TikTok rolled out a set of creator tools which included the ability to schedule TikTok LIVE videos.

Next, following the Live Scheduling feature, is another feature that should also come in handy for live content creators.

Called the 'Practice Mode', it allows content creators to prepare before going live.

Those who have previously attended Instagram Live session should know that things can get pretty hectic at the beginning, as the host and all the guests are syncing up.

Sometimes, things can go smoothly, but on other times, things can get messy.

To avoid live video startup mistakes, Practice Mode allows the host to have guests join a live video, before it's broadcasted to all of their followers.

This should help content creators to set up the video and check the sound, light, and stability of connections so it looks like a professional production when things go live.

Practice Mode can be found in the Broadcast Audience settings.
