Comics-Accurate Wolverine Costume In 'Deadpool 3' Makes Fans Go Wild

13/07/2023

The 'X-Men' are a team of superhero from Marvel Comics. Since its first edition in 1963, it's one of the most recognizable and successful franchises of Marvel Comics.

And among the many mutants with superhuman abilities in the X-Men franchise, there is no doubt that Wolverine is the most famous.

Also known as Logan, or Weapon X, the character is a mutant with animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, a powerful healing factor, and three retractable claws in each hand.

In the movies, the character is portrayed by Hugh Jackman, and since the year 2000, the first time became character, Jackman has been wearing leather jackets of various models, T-shirts, undershirts, black costume, and others, but never his character's iconic yellow outfit.

In a shared Deadpool 3 behind-the-scene photos, fans who have waited forever to see Logan in his world-famous outfit on-screen can finally rejoice.

Both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, as well as Deadpool's official social media accounts, have shared a photo of Deadpool and Wolverine walking side-by-side, in their comics-accurate costumes.

While Reynolds in the Deadpool films have been using his red outfit the entire time, what's new in this photo, is that Jackman is seen wearing the beloved supersuit for the first time.

Fans of the Marvel Comics and the Wolverine character know that this is a massive win, considering the since the first X-Men film, the movies have been shy from the traditional, and colorful costumes of its characters, particularly Wolverine’s famous bright yellow suit from the Marvel Comics and ’90s animated “X-Men” series, which fans begged to see for years.

While the suit is similar to the comics, there is a number of things that have been noted by fans and internet users.

First, is the sleeves.

In the comics, Wolverine wears sleeveless costume, showing his massive, muscular arms. But in the photo, Jackman is wearing long sleeves.

Some people speculated that the long sleeves are there to protect the Australian actor from the sun while filming due to Jackman’s skin cancer treatments over the years.

Second, is the gloves.

In the comics, Wolverine's claws come out from the top of the back of his hands, whereas in the films, they come out between his knuckles. The films do this because it's more biologically correct for the claws to come out from the knuckles than the back of the hands, since they reside in Logan's lower arm when not in use..

In the photo, it's revealed that the designers try to meet these two iterations into one, by making it look like it come out from the top, when it still come out from the knuckles.

Deadpool 3

Since 2000, Jackman has played the fast-healing, adamantium-laced superhero nine times in multiple films, including X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class in a cameo, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2 and Logan.

His Wolverine character died during his last appearance in 2017’s Logan after adamantium poisoning overwhelmed his healing system, killing him slowly due to his age.

On that film, Logan was supposed to die when the character was impaled on a tree branch. That moment 'should have' marked the end of Jackman as the iconic character.

In fact, Jackman himself have previously said that his Wolverine days were over.

But when Reynolds released a surprise video teasing the return of the regenerative mutant with virtually indestructible adamantium claws for Deadpool 3, he literally ignited Twitter.

Deadpool 3 is returning the character once more to the big screen.

And fans couldn't be happier.
