Facebook's "Ask" button

20/05/2014

It's common on social media for some people to keep their private information private, and Facebook obeys that rule. When users load their own personal pages, the social network has asked them to add interests and likes in certain categories, and if any of these personal information are left blank, Facebook points those categories out while making automatic, historical guesses about it.

Users can keep information private. The idea is to keep unwanted attention away, or at best, leaves people (and Facebook) guessing. But now, people don't have to guess. They just have to Ask.

Facebook has rolled out a new, crowd-sourced way to get to the heart of its users' lives: peer pressure. Facebook launches the "Ask" button on a profile's top-left " About box when pertinent information has been left blank.
