'Hawk Tuah' Girl Launches Her Own AI-Powered Dating Advice App

15/11/2024

Her name is Hailey Welch, but to the world, the 22-year-old is better known as the "Hawk Tuah" girl.

After seeing instant recognition following the virality of a video, Hailey is quick in piggybacking her rising fame to further boost her personal brand and social media presence. In just a few months, Hailey has rapidly risen to fame, amassing millions of followers across various social media platforms.

But she knows that her fame holds more opportunities than just that.

This is why she had started turning her fame into a full-fledged career.

After releasing her own podcast titled “Talk Tuah,” the woman is also venturing into the tech world, and business, by launching her own AI-powered dating advice app.

Called Pookie Tools, the app that is aimed at Generation Z singles offers a range of features, such as an AI chatbot to help with conversation starters and general dating advice, outfit recommendations for dates, height estimator, tips to enhance dating profile, outfit recommendations, and even a zodiac compatibility feature.

The app is launching at a time when many young daters have complaints about the current online dating culture, which is plagued by ghosting, scams, and other challenges.

With an increasing number of people start relying on chatbots for advice, sharing more of their personal issues with AIs, Welch knows that the demand is high.

Pookie Tools, which is named after a nickname she calls her boyfriend, is her answer to that demand.

Not long before this, Hailey revealed her mystery boyfriend, whose name is Kelby Blackwell, on an episode of her Talk Tuah podcast. At that time, he referred to him as her Pookie.

"I [was on] Bill Maher’s podcast, and it was actually one of his ideas he gave me," she said.

"He kind of pushed me, in a way, saying I should be a relationship coach. And so we came up with the idea. … This app is the easiest way for them to find their forever Pookie."

To build the app, Welch partnered with Ben Ganz, founder of Ultimate AI Studio, an AI customer support automation platform.

And to help boost the app's popularity, the Hawk Tuah girl said that the AI would mimic her characteristics, and as expected, the chatbot embodies her signature humor and bluntness.

To make this happen, according to Ganz, the team trained the AI model using transcripts from Talk Tuah's podcast.

It's worth noting that Pookie Tools is not the only one of its kind.

Major dating platforms, like Tinder and Bumble, have also introduced their own AI tools.

It's also worth noting that Hailey Welch is far from the first content creator to launch an app. A lot of others before her have ventured into business, with some more successful than the others.

However, most other influencers took their time, and settle with their career as content creators, before thinking about building their own startup.

Hailey on the other hand, is a rare breed.

Haliey first becomes famous for her mild NSFW answer to a question from YouTubers Tim & Dee TV. Her playful tonal stress on the onomatopoeia soon caught the attention of social media users.

Now, self-proclaiming to be a "relationship guru," Haliey the Hawk Tuah girl is a business person so early in her influencing career.
