Jackie Chan is a world-renown celebrity.
Born in 1954 from parents who were political refugees from the Chinese Civil War, the Hong Kong-national actor is also a filmmaker, martial artist, and stuntman is known for his slapstick acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, and innovative stunts, which he typically performs himself.
The man who has been in the entertainment industry since the 1960s, have performed in more than a hundred films.
While Chan is one of the most recognizable and influential film personalities in the world, little do many people in the world know about his personal life.
And following a video that went viral, people began digging deep into Chan's life, where many began to realize the harsh and sad truth Chan hid behind his fame.
Jackie Chan and his daughter crying while watching some of his old movie scenes is the most wholesome thing you’ll watch today.

Jackie Chan, whose name 'Jackie' was given by his friend at a construction site, has a heartwarming clip, which shows him and a young woman watching his stunts.
In the video that went viral, it's believed that the video was captured between Chan and his daughter.
"Were you in any pain?" the young woman said, to which he replied "a lot."
"Papa, you’re awesome," the young woman said, with eyes showing proudness.
And when the video they were watching showed one of Chan's most life-threatening injuries, which happened during the shooting of Armour of God in 1986, where he fell and cracked his skull, and had a piece of the bone piecing his brain.
The horror of seeing blood pouring out of Chan's ear, during the time Chan almost died, seemingly disturbed his daughter.
Both broke down in tears and embracing in close together.
Fans celebrated the clip and showered Chan with praise.
However, it was later revealed that the woman in the clip is actually Liu Haocun, an actress who only debuted in the entertainment industry in 2020.
It was only after this, that many of those fans realize that the clip is actually part of Chan's movie Ride On.
In other words, the clip is not a father-daughter date that went viral.
Chan, who claimed to have broken almost every single bone in his body for more than once due to his daredevil stunts, is not what many people thought he was.
I co-wrote Jackie’s first autobiography, I AM JACKIE CHAN. That’s not Jackie’s daughter.
Google his daughter Etta Ng if you want to see the context of why this is a pretty bad mistake to make (beyond the “all look same” issue) https://t.co/aiJrZFU7Rw— Jeff Yang (@originalspin) July 3, 2023
Chan's real daughter is Etta Ng Chok Lam, also known as Xiao Long Nu.
She was born when Chan, who is married to Taiwanese actress Joan Lin since 1982, had an extramarital affair with Elaine Ng Yi-Lei, a Hong Kong actress, and a winner of Miss Asia in 1990.
After Chok Lam was born in 1999, the media quickly sniffed the truth.
Despite regretting the results of the affair, Chan said he had "only committed a fault that many men in the world commit."
Following the incident, Elaine said that she would take care of her daughter, without Chan.
But it was then realized that Chok-Lam was abandoned by Chan because of her sexuality.
Chok-Lam, who is openly lesbian since age 17, has accused her father of being homophobic and suggests her sexual orientation is the reason for her and her father’s estrangement. She went on as far as to say that the two haven’t had contact for years, nor has she had any financial help from him.
Back in 2015, she once said that Chan is just her "biological father," and nothing more than that.
"He never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father. As long as I have my mother with me, I don’t need my father."
Chan was so furious of her sexual orientation, that in his autobiography, the action star did not even mention anything about his daughter, despite mentioning his affair with Elaine Ng.
This went bad to worse for Chok-Lam, when she revealed back in 2018, that she and her now-wife Andi Autumn were living homeless due to unsupportive parents.
It's said that Lan's relationship with her mother deteriorated after she came out as lesbian and after she uploaded pictures of herself and Andi Autumn, her girlfriend who is reportedly 12 years older than her.
The couple moved to Canada, got married, and made Chok-Lam's relationship with her mother even worse.
Chok-Lam said that she won't be reuniting with her mother.
"I’d rather be homeless and eat stale bread than go home and reunite with my mother," she said.
In a YouTube video, Chok-Lam said that they had been homeless because Autumn's friend is no longer able to provide them housing and none of the government facilities care about it.
According to her, it's her own choice that she remains estranged.
"I don’t even understand what’s happening because we have gone to the police, we have gone to the hospital, the foodbanks, the LGBTQ communities, shelters and all of them just don’t give a s**t. We’ve been homeless for a month due to homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge and other things."
"I've grown up in a world of negativity and close mindedness but I am at that point where I realise that I can use my experience to tell my truths and help others just like me," she said in one other time.
It was only after this, that some people began sharing a photo of Chok-Lam when she was queueing for free food in Toronto.

Regardless, while Chok-Lam's relationship with both her parents has gone south, both Chan, the world-famous actor, and Elaine Ng, the former beauty queen, wish her the best.
In 2013, for example, when Chan was promoting his film Police Story, he admitted to have been a bad father.
"The story touched a part of me, especially during the crying scenes. I can’t help myself but break into tears when filming scenes with Tian Jing because it will remind me of my Xiao Long Nu," he said to a Chinese publication.
"I have neglected her for the longest time."
And as for Elaine Ng, she once stated that she is utterly disappointed in Chok-Lam, and she went as far as saying that "I’ve never given birth to this child," and that "this daughter is not mine."
However, she never discarded her rebellious daughter, and that she advised her not to "do bad things" and to always engage in activities that bring her "happiness."

The reports shed light to Chan's personal life, and the challenging circumstances that faced Chok-Lam.
The father-daughter relationship between Chan and his real daughter is a stark contrast between the cinematic clip that went viral.
At this time, Chan is worth $400 million, and his daughter is living in poverty.
This reality sent many fans disillusioned.
Jackie Chan, who hardly needs any formal introduction, successfully managed to leave an array of generations inspired, and even gave tough competition in Hollywood. One may know Jackie for his impressive martial art movies, but he is a man of many shades, especially when it concerns his personal life.
The news of Chok-Lam's alleged poverty and her accusations of homophobia against her parents have cast a shadow over Chan's public image, leaving fans and the public grappling with the shocking truth behind the star.
It's worth noting that despite the affair, Chan and Lin have remained married, and shared a son named Jaycee Chan, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in 2022.
