Microsoft's search engine Bing is one of the biggest in the market. But no matter how popular a product can be, it can fail time to time.
Bing is the second-largest search engine in the United State. But after Apple has chosen Google to become the default search engine for Siri on iOS and Spotlight on Mac, replacing Bing. The Microsoft's search engine was the default engine for Siri since 2013. It is still the search engine that powers Yahoo! Inc, AOL and Amazon.com.
But Microsoft isn't going to grieve its loss.
Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella said that the company's search engine will instead be expanding to the PC search market.
"Bing is a big business growing at a strong double-digit rate, and we see a significant opportunity for us even on the PC side," said Nadella .
His opinion relies on the company's quarterly earnings report. Microsoft said its search advertising revenue grew 8 percent year-to-year. This is certainly caused by Bing still popular on PC market, especially because it's the default choice on newer version of Windows operating system.
Apple's decision to choose Google is because it thinks Google can improve Siri. What's more, Google is already the default search engine for Safari on MacOS and iOS, but Siri and Spotlight search have relied on Microsoft’s Bing for years.
Unlike Safari, both Siri and Spotlight search do not offer a way to change the default provider either. Safari, on the other hand, lets users choose between Google, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.

And following Google's lead earlier this year, Bing has added fact checking tags to search results.
The label for fact checks appear below results from Snopes, PolitFact, and other fact checking organizations. This essentially makes thing easier for users to see and cross-check any given claims. So rather than having to click into the link, the site's verdict - true, false, or somewhere in between - can be pulled out into the search preview.
But what's really meant to be, is to help eliminate incorrect stories, fake news and hoaxes. While to only an extent, Bing hopes that users can be helped with the verdict that is pulled and bolded.
