Facebook - News Feed messages

Having custom-made messages to sit on top of Facebook's main content is nothing new. This is similar to seeing Google showing Doodles on its home page, and it's essentially a practical way to get attention, and to deliver information fast and quick.

As they evolve around events, they may be themed around holidays or memorable moments in history. But because Facebook is placing a larger emphasis around current events in local communities, the highlight can cover a broader term that Google.

For example, Facebook has suggested its users to check out the Super Moon, and greeted users with a Thanksgiving message.

For Facebook users, the little touch can help make Facebook to feel a bit more friendly and alive to them. Many people check Facebook early in the morning. And being greeted is something that can bring a smile.
