The AI industry was quiet. It was peaceful, until it was disrupted.
Since OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, things changed. Tech companies began competing in an arms race that sooner than later, the technology can seemingly decimate those that didn't jump into the bandwagon and piggyback the trend.
Google is one of the biggest players in tech.
It experienced a "code red" that forced its two founders back to the office.
Google continuously improve Gemini, by introducing new features as fast as it can.
And this time, things just get better.
Bard was born, and was then reborn as Gemini.

This is because Google Gemini now has the ability to "remember" details about its users.
The feature that Google calls 'Saved Info,' allows the AI chatbot to personalize its answers to better suit users' needs.
Saved Info is essentially a "memory" feature, where users can share information like their interests, work, hobbies, or goals, and have the AI to remember them during their conversations.
Engaging with the feature is said to help the AI deliver more "relevant responses."
For example, users can tell Gemini that they're vegetarian, and during future conversations, like when users ask about restaurant to visit, the AI will stop recommending places to eat where meat is available in their menu.
Google also gave some more examples of potentially useful uses of the feature.
They include "Use simple language and avoid jargon," "I can only write code in JavaScript," and "When trip planning, include the cost per day."
In other words, users can ask Gemini to remember "your life, work, and preferences."
According to Google, this feature is meant to make interactions with its AI model "even more helpful and personalized."
The idea is that, users should no longer need to unnecessarily repeat the same key details for Gemini to focus on.
In all, the feature is very similar to OpenAI's Memory feature.

Google isn’t simply replicating OpenAI’s Memory feature, and has put its own spin on it.
In a digital landscape where copy-pasting competitors is often seen as a strategy for progress, Google has enhanced its version of the Memory feature. Users can now prompt Gemini to remember specific details using phrases like "Remember," "Keep in mind," or "Always provide."
This allows Gemini to retain information without users needing to manually input anything in the "Saved Info" section.
Whether it’s details about hobbies, work, language preferences, or how to assist with brainstorming, users can tailor Gemini’s responses to suit their needs.
The company noted that the feature, which initially supports only English-language prompts can be switched off at any time.
However, whatever inside the Saved Info is stored until manually deleted.
