Google users on mobile starts seeing an updated look to the search engine's product-oriented Knowledge Panels.
The update is meant to improve previous iterations of Knowledge Panels, making them to show even more details about specific products in Google's search results.
To get more details about things, Google pulls in user reviews from various sources, including merchants, manufacturers and brands that participate in the Product Ratings program and from other platforms.
Then, Google's algorithms work to sort the information out so it can provide editorial reviews about specific products that are searched by users.
The update comes with a blue header and an updated carousel featuring third-party editorial reviews.
There is also separate tabs for stores, videos, and one-stop resource for product information.
Google tweeted a GIF showing how this updated shopping panel experience looks like:

Google started showing ads in its Knowledge Panels in 2013, just before the holiday shopping season at the end of that year.
At the time, Google was a heavy competitor e-commerce websites, mainly Amazon, in terms of product search volume.
And this updated Knowledge Panels is Google's strategy to provide users more information about products in the search results, adding to the recent update that introduced side-by-side comparison features, straight inside Google Search.
