The popular photo- and video-sharing platform Instagram has announced a bunch of updates, and users can not be more pleased.
Four updates were announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri: Reels can be up to 90 seconds long, audio can be imported to Reels, stickers can be added to Reels, and users can pin content to their profile grid.
First up, is the ability to pun content to users' profile grid.
This ability is nothing new, and has been around on TikTok and Twitter.
In Instagram, the feature allows users to pin up to three photos and videos to their profile grid. Users can choose which photos that should be pinned to the top of a profile grid by tapping on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of a photo or video, and selecting 'Pin to your profile.'
"Your profile is your place, so we’re looking for more ways to give you control over that experience," Mosseri said.
This feature has been in testing since late April as a way to allow users to highlight their favorite posts that may have been buried somewhere farther down in their photo grid.
Before this, users have the option to pin Stories to their profile, but this feature expands this ability to posts.

Mosseri also used the post to announce three other updates.
Centered around Reels. Mosseri said that the previous limit of 60 seconds has been increased again to 90 seconds.
The update is meant to allow users to tell longer, more full stories.
The second Reels update is one that Mosseri said is heavily requested, which is the ability to import audio from anywhere in a users' phone, and use the audio for creating a Reel.
And lastly, the third Reels update brings "interactive stickers," that include quiz stickers, emoji sliders, poll stickers, and others to Reels.
The goal of this particular update is to make Reels "interactive and fun."

Apart from all the above, Instagram has also introduced a security feature which comes as an expansion of the 'Sensitive Content Control' feature.
What it does, is allowing users to control the amount of sensitive content and accounts they see on the platform. The platform said that 'Sensitive Content Control' can control everywhere Instagram's algorithms make recommendations.
This feature has three options, which the company has renamed from when it first introduced the control to better explain what each option does.
The three options are 'More,' 'Standard' and 'Less'.
'Standard' is the default state, and should prevent people from seeing some sensitive content and accounts.
